5: Why do some countries experience the four seasons but contries like Singapore and Malaysia do not?

Dear all in 5Kindness,

Please answer the question above and post your answers using the Comments functions. I'm not looking for 'Cut & Paste' answers from the Internet - please summarise your own and re-post them here. The best answer brings a small reward. Good luck!

  1. Some countries experience 4 seasons because the earth is tilted at an angle on its own axis.Because of the earth moving round the sun during the year, different part of earth would be tilted away from the sun.Hence, some parts of the earth nearer to the colder region would have winter and some parts of the earth nearer to the warmer region would have summer. But,Singapore is located at the equater(centre of the earth)that is why there is no summer or winter.

  2. Ms.Yeo, I learnt that if we live near the equator, the sun dosen't shiftthat much. this means that the temperature of the does not vary that much. So,the countries near the equator have 2 seasons -rainy and dry.

Some countries do not experience the 4 seasons is because of the Earth's axis and the revolution around the sun..As the Earth revolves around the Sun,diffrent parts of the Earth gets different amount of sunlight. That is why the tilting of the Earth and the revolution around the Sun produces the 4 seasons.

  4. This is so because countries like singapore and malaysia are near the equator. Since the equator is perpendicular to the earth's axis,(somewhere in the middle)receiving most of the sunlight from the sun in the day because of the positioning of the equator, they experience mostly high tempretures and occasionally wet and rainy weathers only. Countries that are not very near the equator experience the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

  5. Singapore and Malaysia are near the equator unlike other countries with four seasons.

  6. singapore is in the equator where it recieves alot f sunlight and heat .So,it is enable to have seasons like winter.where else,European countries are in the
northen side where it recieves lesser sulight and heat which ables it to have all the 4 seasons such as winter, summer, spring and autum.

  8. Singapore and Malaysia is near the equator where they only will experience summer and winter whereas some countries like America is away from the equator. So it experiences all the seosons.

  9. It is because Singapore is near the equator. The sun's rays always come from almost directly overhead whereas countries like The United Kingdom have 4 seasons.the way earth tilts as its orbits the sun's rays to strike them at different angles depending the time of the year.

  10. It is because when it is summer in the northern hemisphere,it is autumn or winter in australia. This is caused by the nothern part of the world being tipped the opposite way from the sun to australia.

  11. The number of seasons is governed by the climate, which is in turn affected by the position of the country in relationship to the sun and its topography.

I'm not sure if you got the answer I sent before so I'll send yu another one.:)

  12. Singapore and Malaysia are countries near the equator,so it is hot throughout the year.Since it is warm/hot, it will not be able to turn rain water to snow.In countries experiencing 4 seasons,it will be cold enough to turn rain water to ice, therefore there is snow.Singapore and Malaysia has indeed only warm/hot weathers.Countries experience 4 seasons because their climate changes over a period of time and they are not too close to the equator.

  13. Countries near the equator experience only three seasons. during the year, the three seasons usually have the same temperature. countries near the Northern hemisphere experince the four seasons but during winter, it is not so cold. countries near the Southern hemisphere also experience the four seasons but different timing of the year. It is also because of the axis that Earth is on that affects the different timing of the year.

  14. The Earth is tilted on its axis. So different parts of the Earth receives different amount of sunlight at different times of the year. This causes the different seasons. Thus, the part of the earth that faces the sun would experience summer while the part of the earth that does not receive sunlight will experience winter. This cycle continues as the Earth experiences the different four seasons (summer, autumn, winter and spring). Singapore does not experience the four seasons as it receives sunlight throughout the year.

(1)Countries like Singapore do not experience the four seasons because they are on the equator ,which is the part of the Earth that bulges. The part that bulges recieves more sunlight/heat than the flattened parts of the Earth. The part that bulges is nearer to the sun than the flattened parts are. Therefore it recieves more sunlight/heat.
(2)There is winter in Australia in June and in Europe summer at the same time is because of the Earth's position. At some point of the year, the southern hemisphere receives more sunlight/heat then the northern hemisphere. And at another point of the year, the northern hemisphere receives more sunlight/heat then the southern hemisphere.

  17. The number of seasons is governed by the climate. We experience seasons as the part of earth which is tilting towards the sun, changes. It changes because earth goes round the sun in its orbit but at the same time, it also goes around itself. In this process, earth is going through revolution and rotation. Any time, any season, the northen and southen hemipheres have opposite seasons. Therefore,Earth being the equator, does not have the four seasons.

  18. Some countries like Singapore and Malaysia are near the equator(middle of the earth).Beacause of the positioning, they experience mostly hot and rainy weather. Hence, countries in the further away from the equator experience the 4 seasons.

  19. charys lau. Seasons happen because of the revolution of the Earth around the Sun yearly and the angle of the Earth's axis.Sometimes, the northern hemisphere or the Southern hemisphere is closer to the Sun,it is exposed to more light or less light, causing the four seasons, and since Singapore is exposed to more sunlight it has only one of the four seasons.

  22. Singapore and Malaysia do not expierience the four seasons because they are situated near the equator. Countries found on the equtor are relatively hot. They mostly expierience humid and wet seasons.

  23. The seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth's axis.Different parts of earth are pointing towards the sun at different times of the year.Due to the tilting of the earth's axis, the
sun's rays hit earth at a more direct angle than during winter.Hence, summer is warmer than winter.

  26. Countries like Singapore and Malaysia near the equator are nearest to the Sun. So they are hot throughout the year and do not experience the cold seasons.

  29. Singapore and Malaysia are slightly above the equator. The equator divides the Earth into half. The Earth is also in its tilted position. The countries that are further from the equator will eventually get the four seasons and the countries near the equator will not get the four sesons because the equator is in the middle of the Earth.

  30. It is because singapore and other neighbouring countries are all at the equator which is bulging out nearest to the sun, hence, rising the temperature and making it impossible to have four seasons. On the other hand, countries that are not on the equator tend to have lower temperatures, hence, making it possible to have four seasons.

  31. Singapore is located very close to the equator. Therefore, it experiences a constant 12 hours of day and night throughout the year. So, no four seasons for us then.
