4: Idioms - what's the connection?

Dear all in 5Kindness,

Idioms can be really fun! What's a 'dead ringer' or 'to hit a nail on its head' or 'to let the cat out of the bag'? Idioms are a string of words which have a literary meaning. For example, 'to hit a nail on its head' does not really mean to take a hammer and drive a nail into the wall. Rather, it means to be able to say something so precise and accurate in meaning.

This week, have fun exploring the world of idioms and make the way you see English language in a colourful way!
